Living for Jesus Is the Best Choice

Living for Jesus Is The Best Choice for Me!

I decided I was going to best that I could do.

I didn’t know who I could trust or turn to.

Before I knew it, my life turned “upside down.”

The friends I thought I had, weren’t to be found.

The things that I valued were gone in a moment.

Tragedy hit me in the face, with no postponement.

I was a good person.  How could this happen to me?

My life was in a mess, and everyone could see!

There was a time when there was a Lord I believed in.

I remembered the time that I received him!

This God I once knew, seemed to be in a distant past.

“Why did I walk away from him?”  I began to ask.

I ran to my bedroom and spent some time in prayer.

What anyone thought of me now…  I didn’t care!

I asked the Lord Jesus to rule my life one again.

I invited him to come inside and be my friend.

Jesus replaced the ashes for his love and joy divine.

I could then feel a new love and a peace of mind.

What I had lost before I knew was replaceable.

But what Jesus gave to me was so valuable!

The new treasure I found in Jesus can’t be replaced!

He restored my life and put me on a solid place!

He restored what was gone, and gave much more!

He truly cares for me and is something

worth living for!

I invite you to ask him to be your lord this hour!

You too, can be filled with his beauty,

 love and power!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
