I've Been Living My Way, Not God's

I’ve Been Living My Way, Not God’s Way!

I’ve often lived the way I want to.

Just living the way that I’m used to.

I didn’t want to live by a “set of rules.”

I thought of Christians as “a bunch of fools.”

Then one day, something “fell into place.”

It was like the truth was staring in my face.

I all of a sudden knew God was close by.

I had been living a life of a bunch of lies.

God’s word began to touch my heart.

The book of John was a good place to start.

I memorized the scripture of John 3:16.

And knew God was in charge of everything!

I fell to my knees in humbles and confession.

Living for Christ was now my obsession.

The one who bled and died on the cross…

Is worth living for!  No matter what the cost!

I now know it was God’s love that found me!

Jesus came and wrapped his arms around me!

I now have a joy and love that I never knew!

That moment when I told Jesus; “I love you!”

Living for Jesus is wonderful

 and always the best!

I have found in him a true comfort and rest.

He’s brought to my life joy and delight!

With him, everything’s going

 to work out alright!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
