I Stopped By...
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

I Stopped By…

I stopped by to see you the other day.

But you seemed busy, as you went your way…

Could we have a few minutes to share together?

After all, you’re my next door neighbor…

I suppose so many people are in a “tizzy…”

Going “here and there…”

Everyone’s just “too busy.”

Do people that go to church act the same way?

Too busy to give someone

“the time of day?”

Perhaps we can talk some other time…

I hope there’s a few ”extra”

 minutes you can find.

I have a need that I was hoping to share.

I simply was going to ask you for some prayer.

I hope this message rings loud and clear…

When I need help, many just “disappear…”

I guess I’ll just stay put…

And not “bother” anybody.

Everyone’s just “too busy.”

 Yes.  Everybody!

I’ll simply just go my separate way.

Maybe we’ll “catch up” soon.  Someday…

I may try Jesus.  I was told he’s my friend…

I was told he’ll be there for me

again and again.

When Jesus stops by  I want to listen…

There’s nothing from him I want to be missin’!

He’s my friend. ..

This is what I now see!

He’s always there…

To spend time with ME!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
