How Can You Love Christ, Yet Refuse

How Can You Love Christ…  Yet Refuse Me?

You say you love Christ

and yet refuse me?

There are so many problems

 that surround me.

You told me “Another time.  I’m busy right now…”

I want to talk with you.  I’m not sure how.

You said you’ll listen.  But never have the time?

Whenever I get by you…  You leave me far behind.

You said you want to show me salvation’s plan.

But seem to be unwilling to reach out your hand.

You said you want me for

 a church greeting.

But deep inside…  My heart is “bleeding…”

You said you’ll listen.  And say a prayer.

When I stop by your house...  No one’s there.

You said that Christ loves me too.

Are these simply words? Or is this true?

You said a lot of words and do many things

Is this what God’s love really means?

Will you, just once, take time for me?

What kind of Christian do you choose to be?

Will you share and teach me God’s ways?

So I too can live for him now…  And always?

Will you give me the love Christ has given?

So I too can have my sins forgiven!

Thank you for listening to my heart felt prayer…

Thanks for listening.

and for being there!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
