Jesus Is My Everything!

Jesus… My Everything!

My soul is broken… my body’s achin’.

At times… I feel so utterly forsaken.

I’ve tried to serve Jesus the best I could.

So many of his ways,

I’ve never understood/

Rather than trusting him

and holding his hand;

My life is sinking

Into quicksand.

So many nights, I’ve cried

myself to sleep.

I feel like I’m in a pit 100 foot deep.

I cried unto the Lord to pull me out.

From you …Oh Lord…

I don’t want to be without!

By your tender mercy and unfailing grace.

I trust you to put my

life on a sold place.

This solid place is Jesus…

my rock and foundation.

I’ve received his wonderful gift of salvation.

He put my feet on a rock to stay.

And his word guides me

each and every day.

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
