Jesus Is Why I'm Here!

Jesus Is Why I’m Here!

My life had been

an embarrassment!

 Filled with failure

 and discouragement.

There were many things,

 I thought I enjoyed…

But inside of me,

is a large, empty void.

Many nights, I cried

 myself to sleep.

Having a sin in my life,

 that was very deep.

 I called out to Jesus,

 not sure if he'd listen.

My family, my old church,

I was now missin'.

My family prayed for me

 for  many years.

I would often bring them

embarrassment and tears.

Jesus—I've tried everything else!

I want to come back to you!

I need  you now Jesus! I really do!

Please come into my heart

and cleanse me within.

Set me free from my problems

and every sin.

I know that you will never

 let go of my hand.

My whole life, on your word,

I shall now stand.

Only you can satisfy my weary soul!

It's in you, I am now

made whole!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
