The "Gospel" of a Different Name

The "Gospel" of A Different Name..

There's a "gospel" being taught.

 It's hard to explain...

It's what I call; "The gospel

of a different name."

It's a different kind of gospel

than what Jesus taught...

His princiles of forgiving,

 they obviously forgot.

It's a "gospel" that teaches certain

 things can't be forgiven...

If you're not living up to their

standard of livin.'

Being a brother is not

very important to them.

If you're not willing to

 partake in their "sin."

What you do or say may get

 them offended.

Their "distaste" for you will be

mutually defended.

This "gospel" they beleive in,

 should cause an alarm.

Think of the consequences.

Think of the harm.

Which "gospel" do you live by?

Day by day?

Do you try to listen to what Jesus

has to say?

Is it a "gospel" of your own

pick and choosing?

If it is.  You're the one who'll

end up losing!

The principles of God's word,

you must daily employ...

If a life of Godliness is what

 you seek the enjoy!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
