Many Refuse God, Yet Believe In Sin

Many Refuse God Yet Believe In Sinful Man!

Someone told me; “there’s not a God I believe in.”

He’s heard about Jesus, but hasn’t received him.

He came with a thought and continued to persist.

He often told others that “God doesn’t exist.”

He asked for proof, so I shared God’s holy word.

He’d just laugh at me and say; “that’s absurd!”

Do we have wind?  We can feel but cannot see it.

We have the heavens, see pictures and believe it.

We can go by our emotions and ask for “real proof.”

God gave us his word and yet many refuse the truth.

We watch the daily news and believe that they say.

We’re often engrossed with the gossip of the day.

We put our faith in political leaders of the town.

Yet, we’re at a loss of words when they let us down.

So, if you don’t in God, who are you going to trust?

Some perverted official brought down by lust?

Will you believe the enlightened minds of society?

Take your pick!  They come in many varieties!

I choose to believe in the almighty God of creation!

I accept by faith, the one who offers salvation!

I believe in the words of our God that’s written!

I accept his forgiveness in my sins being smitten!

I accept the love and mercy of Jesus Christ my king!

I allow him to be the Lord of my life and everything!

I choose Jesus, who died and rose three days later!

There’s no one in this world that you’ll find greater!

You choose your path. I stand by heart that was broken.

I stand by a life that’s been changed by God’s love spoken!

You can accept the blood of Jesus is you want to!

For all he’s done, you’d be a fool not to!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
