Jesus, I Need Your Presence!

Jesus, I Need Your Presence!

I’m alone and have

gone to bed.

Many thoughts have

entered my head

I’m not sure which

 direction to turn.

My mind feels like a fire...

"ready to burn."

No matter how much time

I spend in prayer…

I know that God is

 still there!

Many thoughts are

tempting and alluring!

Getting the help I need,

Isn’t reassuring!

I heard God’s word is

a guiding light before me!

I need it!  Before life

overwhelms me!

I ask you Lord Jesus;

“Please take control of my mind!”

And help me to think on what

Is loving and kind!

May the presence of Jesus

fill my soul!

May he renew my mind and

make me whole!

As Jesus brings the victory,

My old life is defeated!

With him inside me,

I am completed!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
