A Letter To My Special Daughter...

A Letter To My Special Daughter...

My daughter said;; "Dad...leaving home

is what I’m going to do!”."

I said; I know Debbie... there'll be many

 troubling times for you.

Remember this one thing....

before you were brought to my life.

I gave up things I enjoyed

for my family and my wife"

I did this, so I could be the

 best dad I could be.

I sacrificed a lot for you... and also for me.

I didn't want to be a dad that was

"hooked on an addiction."

I wanted to be a good example

 and give spiritual nutrition.

I wanted to have a daughter and

be proud she was my own.

And desired to have you as part

 of my family and home.

I wanted God's best in everything you do.

And to let you know how much

I love and appreciate you.

Now that you have left

your parents behind.

But you're always in our

 prayers and on our mind.

The word of God we taught you long ago.

Will be with you ... no matter where you may go.

As you go on life's journey....

seeking a "new start."

We'll always love you and

keep you close to our heart!

Love,    Dad

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
