To Know The Fellowship

 Of Christ’ Suffering…

"That I may know Christ and the

fellowship of his suffering."

This scripture, at times,

isn't very comforting.

Have I really :suffered"

 or tasted his "bitter cup."

Many of the world's pleasures

have filled my life up.

Do I know what it means

 to suffer for him?

I've been living a life of riches

and pleasures of sin.

If I want to know what

it means to endure…

I need to live by his word

which is secure.

In knowing him,

 I’ll life's true meaning.

As his presence in me

 becomes more revealing.

I need him more that words

could ever express.

When it comes to his love...

 I won't settle for less!

Christ has given me hope,

 within my being.

I’m complete in him!

He's my everything!

Thank you Jesus, for the work

 in me that you'll do.

I can't help but to tell you Lord;

"I really appreciate YOU!"

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
