During My Life, God Was There!
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

During My Life, God Was There!

During my life, which came and went.

A lot of my time was foolishly spent.

During my life, I’ve seen many things.

And have tried the happiness they promised to bring.

During my life, I’ve lived like

there’s no tomorrow.

Only to wake up the next day drowned

 in misery and sorrow!

During my life, I’ve tried

to enjoy the years

Some of the things I’ve done,

 have brought shame and tears!

During my life, I’ve seen people

come and go…

Nothing they’ve tried has brought

true peace to their soul.

During my life, I’ve heard

of God’s mercy and grace.

I’ve been doing nothing but living

 in sin and disgrace!

I’ve had many opportunities and chances.

Only to be overwhelmed by life’s circumstances.

Now, I’ve thought about God’s love.

But I’ve been busy giving him “the shove”

Now, I’m going to stop and listen.

And obey God’s call and his mission!

Now, I’m going to obey God’s voice.

Making Jesus my Lord! And make HIM

first choice!

Now, And each day that shall pass by…

I’m surrendering to Jesus! Till the day I die!

With the time, that God has graciously given…

I’m going to accept God’s way of livin’!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
