Be Ye Holy...

Be Holy As God Is Holy...

I read of a saviour's love...
his righteousness and glory.
I also read of a God who is
awesome and holy.

Without holiness, no man shall
approach his throne.
If one day you expect to make
heaven your home.

When it comes to holiness...
many have a "different interpretation."
It's the sencerity of your heart
that get's God's attention.

Many in church have made
the idea of holiness a joke.
"I can be Christian and curse,
drink and smoke!"

It's what goes into your heart that
pollutes your eternal soul.
The blood of Christ needs to daily cleanse
and make you whole!

When you totally fall in love with
Jesus and lay at his feet.
It'll be your hunger for his
righteousness that'll be sweet!

Then an appetitte for God's
holiness in you will arise.
A desire for God's beauty
shall captivate your eyes.

It's only in Christ alone where
you'll find a true treasure.
You won't want the things anymore
that once gave you "pleasure."

Holiness from God is yours--
just for the asking.
It will lead you into a life that is
complete and everlasting!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
