We Have Dead Pastors Preaching to D
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 2 times

We Have Dead Pastors Preaching Dead Sermons…

We have dead pastors preaching

 to dead congregations.

This is happening here and all

 throughout the nations!

Many preach not on holiness,

but that which “appeals.”

Pastors want their members happy

 in how they feel.

Preaching on God’s holiness seems

to be a relic of the past.

I often wonder, “God, how much

 longer will this last?”

Do those in church try to comprehend

 of begin to see…

That so many in their service come

 but aren’t SET FREE.

They come as they are, with addictions

and sin that is wrong.

But they keep coming each week,

if they feel that they “belong.”

We need to come back to the cross and

 seek God’s conviction.

We need to have our churches moving

in a powerful direction.

We need to bring back the holy altar,

seek God and truly confess.

Right now, too many church families

are in quite a mess!

Dear God, please revive our hearts to

 seek you as never before!

Let’s do it now, before “Ichabod,”

is written on the church door!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
