I'm Ashamed! Jesus... Please Help

I’m Ashamed…  Jesus… Will You Help Me?

I’ve done many things that I’m ashamed of…

Many “failures” I’ve had.  I’m not proud of!

Many struggles and problems I’ve tried to “shrug.”

Too often I tried to “hide them under the rug.”

At the time I thought I was “pretty cool.”

This was what my “friends” would also do!”

As the many sins I committed began to “come out.”

I began to question what life is really about???

Not thinking about the consequences they would bring.

I too often had my mind “on other things!”

I wanted things that would bring “instant gratification.”

I would “rush into things,” with no reservations!

I wish I would have listened to what

my parents told me…

I neglected the Godly instructions

in how they raised me!

My life now seems to be racing down a slippery slope.

So many times I wonder if there

 is any kind of hope.

Can God help me now?  Or is it too late?

Will my life end up in a dreadful fate?

Dear Jesus, I humbly come to you and confess…

Please take me now…  My life is a HUGE mess!

Many of my days have been dark and sad…

I need true peace and joy that I never had!

I know you can totally change my life from within!

And restore my life so I can be

saved and BORN AGAIN!

In YOU I can find wholeness from my head to my feet.

It’s only in YOU that I can be

made COMPLETE!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
