What Would I Do if It Were not for

What Would I Do?   If Not For the Lord?

I don’t know what I’d do…

If the Lord wasn’t near me.

With him by my side.  My enemies

are scattered before me!

I don’t know what I’d do…

If Christ hadn’t taken away my sins!

I look forward to fellowship

with him, as each day begins!

I don’t know what I’d do…  If Christ didn’t

 remove my burdens.

Without him.  I’d be in trouble!

This is very certain!

I don’t know what I’d do…  Without Christ’

 blood’s atonement.

I’m so thankful for his sacrifice.

each day and moment!

I know what I’m going to do…

With the passing of each day.

I’m going to read my Bible.

And humble myself.  And pray!

I know what I’m going to do…

 With my extra time.

I’m going to be Christ’ example.

And be merciful and kind!

I know what you should do…  This is a must!

Why not come to God today?

And give him all of your trust?

I know that you’ll never be

disappointed that you did!

Christ twill give you true peace and joy

 each day you live!

Come and taste of the Lord!

 Ever loving and sweet!

It’s only through him…

That your life will be complete!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
