Are You Ashamed of the Gospel?

Some say; “I’m a Christian but I don’t want to offend.”

They’ll do about anything to have another friend.

Scripture says ”to come out from the world and be separate”

But I fear that many in churches today are “desperate.”

Rather than standing by a conviction of Godly living.

A life filled with compromise is what they’re giving.

“Love” and “inclusion” are the phrases of the day!

Many are worried about turning someone away.

God teaches love and holiness!  His word reminds us!

It must be his way of truth that daily binds us!

It’s no wonder why many are perishing and lost!

They received a watered down message of the cross!

If it’s a socializing “love me” gospel that people want to hear.

May God’s word remind us that his judgment is near!

One can pick and choose from God’s word, if they want to.

What kind of an example for Christ are they up to?

Isn’t it time to come before God in humble confession?

And make a commitment to obey him as our obsession?

Jesus didn’t compromise! Even till his death on the cross!

He spoke in power and truth to the religious and lost!

Will you stand up for God’s truth?  Can he use you?

Is Jesus worth the cost?  Even if others refuse you?

To live is Christ…  To die is to gain!

May we not compromise the power of HIS name!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
