I Heard of a Savior..

I Heard of a Savior

I heard of a family that’s “falling apart…”

When I heard the news…  It saddened my heart.

I heard of another murder.  Another killing.

The details about it were rather “chilling…”

I heard of an accident just near our place…

And can still see the look

 on the person’s face.

I’ve heard of so many other tragedies

 that I won’t share.

Evil and wickedness are happening everywhere!

I’ve heard of the sin that “plagues” mankind…

It’s been with us since the beginning of time.

I’ve also heard of a savior.  From heaven he came…

On the cross, he bore all

of our sorrows and shame.

I’ve heard this same Jesus can

mend the broken homes…

And can bring true healing

 to the body and bones.

I’ve heard and have

experienced within.

Christ’ power to cleanse and take away our sin!

I’ve heard that he’s knocking

at your heart’s door…

He can change your life

and do so MUCH MORE!

I’ve heard that all you need to do…

Is to invite him in…

So you too can have a relationship with HIM!

I’ve heard and know he can bring

to your life true meaning…

Won’t you accept him NOW?

 And start believing???

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
