Why Don't Churches Preach on Sin?

Why Don’t Churches Preach On Sin?

I often wonder why many churches don’t preach on sin.

I think that too many are worried they’ll “lose a friend.”

They’d rather preach and have people “fill in the lines.”

It’s very seldom that God’s word convicts their minds.

The pastor preaches and people have a good feeling.

But a sinful and messed up life is what’s revealing.

Many come with bondages and afflictions within.

They leave church unchanged, and captive of SIN.

Victory is many church lives hasn’t been completed.

As people go home on Sunday, with a life defeated.

It’s time we come back and serve the God of the Bible.

Let’s stop worshipping our flesh and the word’s false idols!

Repentance and sincere confession to God is the key.

To living the kind of life that he wants for you and me!

It’s time that we’re not a slave to our selfish desires.

It’s time to come to the cross and lift Jesus up higher!

Where sin is, God’s grace is powerful and always abounds!

There’s an abundant life in Jesus waiting to be found!

Please come Lord Jesus!  By your power,

convict us of sin!

That we may truly know that it means to be BORN AGAIN!

Living holy lives before God brings fellowship divine!

Let’s repent before Jesus!

While we still have the time!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
