I Disappointed My Lord!

I Disappointed My Lord!

I have disappointed my Lord once again!

By hanging on to an unrepentant sin!

My life has been getting way “off track…”

Each time I commit the “embarrassing act.”

“No one’s watching,” was what I thought.

I never realized the pain this brought!

This kind of “pleasure” I wish would go away!

Is causing me to stumble almost every day!

There was joy, that I once had in my heart…

But this sin feels like it’s tearing me apart!

It took me a long time.  But I finally admitted.

I needed God’s help, for the sins I committed!

Dear God, my whole life, I ask you to cleanse!

It’s in you, that I now totally depend!

Create a right spirit within me!

Your goodness is what others need to see!

The most important thing,

to Jesus I can give…

Is a broken and humble heart,

each day I live!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
