The Dangers of Adultery...
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

By James Pemberton
Other Poems by James Pemberton

The Danger of Adultery…

I think many people are caught “unaware,”

of the danger of having "an affair."

Adultery begins with an unguarded

 thought in the mind.

It's been a part of mankind’s fall,

 since the beginning of time.

Many aren't sure how they're going to react.

Till the day they're in an adulterous act.

By this time... their love for

 their spouse is broken.

When the words; "I love you"...

to another... are spoken.

Soon... their home becomes

"turned around" and divided.

As their commitment

and faithfulness are undecided.

Their families become "one huge mess..."

As the love "for another person"

becomes "obsessed."

You may find yourself in this kind of situation.

Perhaps you're in, "with no explanation."

Run from this person as fast as you can!

Come to the cross!  Reach for Jesus' hand!

Confess your sin to your spouse

 and call on Jesus' name.

You have only yourself... no one else... to blame.

Allow Jesus to 100% be the Lord of your life.

As you brings you together

 as husband and wife!

Let him restore your marriage

and make it complete.

Come to him now!  Lay your sin at his feet!

His love in your marriage is

forever and binding!

His commitment to you is

a love worth finding!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
