Appreciate God’s Blessings!

I didn't know how good I had it,

until I lost what I owned.

I lost my family, possessions,

and home..

I tried to live a life according

 to a "good principle."

I let pride get in the way and

 felt kind of "invincible."

I once had money, wealth and some fame.

Now I feel alone

and ashamed.

I feel empty, afraid

and "at my wit's end."

Everyone. it seems, has left me.

 Even my close friends.

Jesus... You're the one I know

that I can call upon.

You make things "right"

when all seems "wrong."

What you can give to me,

money could never buy.

I humbly kneel before you Lord,

with a desperate cry.

Please help me dear lord...

 I know that you can.

I read in your word that you are;

"I AM that I AM!"

In YOU... Jesus...

I can find life's meaning.

Your life for mine, is what I'm now believing.

You're my best friend whom

I love so much.

I need your mercy and peace!

Your "special touch."

You alone can bring love and joy,

 that wealth can never give.

You brought me hope and peace

 and a reason to live!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
