Why Don't More Believe in God?

Why Don’t More Believe In God?

Why, instead of living for God,

many curse him?

Then when things get bad,

they want him to bless them?

Why do so many reject God’s holy commands?

And want him to stay out their homes and lands?

Why don’t more obey God,

 yet still refuse to listen?

All of his goodness and love

 is what they’re missin’!

Why are there a lot rejecting God’s holy ways?

Not reading his Bible,

and the truth that it says!

Why do so many all across this great nation…

Reject the only one who

 is a SOLID foundation?

Why do we have so many different choices…

We neglect God, and listen to other kind of voices?

With every opportunity and each day…

Many haven’t spent time alone

 with God to pray?

In your life and the way you’re livin’…

Have you accepted God’s

desire to be forgiven?

God gives peace and joy that comes from him…

Have you allowed the God of creation

 to be your friend?

Won’t you take some time?  Time well spent...

Choosing to follow Christ…

And humbly repent?

Won’t you accept everything he offers to you?

He’s waits at your heart’s door...

What will you do?

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
