I Was At Life's Dead End But Jesus

I Was At Life’s Dead End But Jesus Was There!

I’ve been to the place where

I thought my life would end.

I felt alone, with no one I could

 call my friend.

I’ve often felt as if

I was “trapped within.”

The sorrow I felt. I don’t

know where to begin.

I’ve was at, what I call;

 “life’s dead end road.”

I felt like I was carrying

 “a very heavy load.”

I’ve spent some time where

I’ve been “down on my knees.”

Wondering if there were anyone

 listening to my “desperate pleas.”

I’ve had many discouraging

 thoughts enter my mind.

Any true peace or joy…

I haven’t been able to find.

I’ve had time and giving it some thought…

What kind of life, have I really got?

The things I’ve desired and obtained…

They come and go as quickly as they came.

As a young boy, I remember

 hearing of a savior’s love.

A gift of an abundant life,

 his gift from above.

I’ve read in the Bible where Jesus

can give true contentment.

A life filled with true joy, peace and fulfillment.

Thank you Lord for giving what

no one else could give.

I know that you are with me,

 each day I live!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
