Giving in to Temptation

Giving In To Temptation...

I remember of a particular situation.

When I was offered a very

“inviting”  temptation.

This situation I was in—

I knew I didn't belong.

And lost all sense of “right vs. wrong.”

At first, I didn't feel and guilt or shame.

And brought embarrassment

to my family name.

I tried to explain this to

my wife and kids.

They said; “Daddy—please no more lies or fibs!”

The Godly principles I believed were

tossed to the side.”

As the sin inside of me caused

arrogance and pride.

Soon...all that in life that once dearly mattered.

Was all gone-and my life was empty and “shattered.”

I was so sorry for all of the problems I had caused.

At this point in my life I took a moment to pause.

I cried to God to help and rescue me from my sin.

I confessed my failures. Would he help me once again???

I read in the Bible of a saviors'

grace and redemptive love.

The help I needed had to come from God...above.

I asked him for a cleansing and a fresh new start.

He removed the guilt and stain

from a broken heart.

He restored in me the joy that I once had.

I am so thankful to Jesus...he now has made me glad!

He put my family and I back together

and made us whole.

He truly is the lover and redeemer of my soul!

YOU—Jesus—are the reason why I am here today!

How I love you more than words could ever say!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
