God Requires The Church To Holy Living!

There’s a church nearby with people living in sin.

The preacher feels like there’s no way to “win.”

He likes to preach on many “positive exhortations…”

And preaching on God’s mercy and salvation.

But there’s one scripture that you won’t find.

It has to do with preaching on 1 Corinthians 6:9.

You see, in spite of man’s pride and his own “wisdom.”

Those engaging in devious acts won’t enter God’s kingdom.

It doesn’t matter to God how many give their 10 percent.

If the same people live in sin and don’t repent.

It doesn’t matter how good the church service may feel.

We need to confess our sins, so we can be healed.

If we say “we have no sin,” we’re lying already.

When Jesus returns, how many will be ready?

Let’s all seek God’s righteous ways of holy living.

May we offer to God a holy life in what we’re giving.

It’s time we quit “playng church,”

and give God our best!

Let’s do our part.  Then let God do the rest!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
