What Happened to My Love for Jesus?

What Happened to My Love for Jesus?

I was thinking about something
 other day.
I was at a loss for the
"right words to say."

There was a time
way back when…
That day I became born again.

A zeal for Jesus,
made me glad.
Now, in my life,
my heart grows sad.

A passion for Christ
once filled my soul.
His love completed
and made me whole.

I left this relationship,
that I once knew.
Reading God's word-
I no longer do.

What happened to me?
I'm so ashamed!
I've been an embarrassment to
Jesus' holy name.

So, dear Jesus, my knees
I humbly bow.
Please change my life...
I need you now!

By your blood, transform
me deep within.
I confess to you my backsliding sin.

I re-commit my life NOW!  Yes I do!
By your power, I'm made

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
