Where Am I Really Going?

 Where Am I Really Going?

Who am I?  Where am I going?

Am I going in the wrong direction,

 without knowing?

It seems like yesterday

that I was a young man.

The problems I faced...

 I didn’t always understand.

What have ! done for all of these years?

As the end of my life is drawing so near…

If I gained everything in this world…

But my life is lost…

Have I done my best for God?  Whatever the cost?

As I ponder, it’s becoming clear to me.

There is a God who really does love me!

I’ve read his word.  And have heard his voice.

It was he that first loved me.  I am HIS choice!

He has a plan for my life and his love in mind.

And shall always be with me…

Till the end of time!

Whatever time I have left…   And each day that is spent…

I come to Jesus now and humbly repent!

Whatever direction I am now going,

 is a blessing indeed.

God’s word directs me!

  HE supplies my every need!

I don’t have to questions my goals,

ambitions or dreams.

I am enjoying a new life.

That only Jesus brings!

Christ is my everything!

The answer to my every prayer!

My life is kept in HIS

 tender mercy and care!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
