Happy 226th -- America!

Happy 226th--America!

Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday to America
We will soon with fireworks say again.
226 years of glorious, majestic freedom,
Thank you, America. Yes, Thank You America
For being such a faithful and loyal friend.

Congratulations on becoming 226 years old!
You are more needed today,
Than on the day you were first born;
Though, we must openly confess
That the wrinkles of time
Are making your face appear weary and worn.

Arthritis of ethics and morals
Is beginning to cause you much pain.
Memory loss of your God-given heritage
Is opening the door of embarrassment and shame.

Heart arteries of holiness and godliness
Are becoming painfully clogged.
Your eyesight of redemptive purpose
Is slowly dimming--as if you were
In the midst of a thick blanket of fog.

America, America, what can we give to you
On this celebration of your 226th birthday?
Maybe a renewal of the wonderful gift
You have given to each of us --
A beautiful land of freedom
In which to worship and pray.
