Advent Blessings

Advent Blessings

What do you want for Christmas?
People quite often say to me.
Not any thing particular, I respond,
For I must seek the blessings of Advent, You see.

There is the blessing of incomprehensible peace,
And the blessing of forgiveness and unconditional love.
There is the blessing of financial increase,
And the blessing of timely wisdom from above.

Jesus' advent brought forth so many blessings,
Through the avenue of God becoming man.
Even a hundred overtime classroom sessions,
Could not help me to fully know or understand.

What do I want for Christmas?
That is very easy for me to decide.
I desire my life full of Advent blessings,
From Emmanuel, The God who is ever on our side.
