The Day After Labor Day
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

By George David Denson
Other Poems by George David Denson

The day after celebrating Labor Day
Awakens our hearts with mixed emotions;
Our day of rest and relaxation has prepared us
For Tuesday morning's routine and daily commotions.

Labor Day is always traditionally filled
With food, friends, family and great fun;
As we all enjoy this special holiday,
And say a hardy good-bye to summers hot sun.

We owe a thousand words of thanks
To whomever created our Labor Day;
For this day of rest renews the hardworking laborer
To take on the rest of the year's laboring ways.
