Poetic Transcendence

Poetic Transcendance

O how I love to write poems,
Let me count the ways;
Creatively, leisurely, redemptively,
Writing as if I had found earth's most valuable coins.

In writing poetry, inspiration is the key,
Transcending the present moment of thought;
With words clothed in color and personal meaning,
For all to behold and read.

Sharing words of emotion, vision and rhyme,
Transcending the present moment of life;
Is like drinking from the spiritual fountain,
Of His glorious cup of love's new wine.

As a camera takes pictures in color or black and white,
Our poetic images of life's reality;
Transcends the present moment of vision,
Like nature's most welcomed morning light.

Like a decorator wraps a home in warmth, beauty, and love,
Through color, pictures, and furnishings;
A poet transcends the present moment of time,
By His touch of grace from heaven above.

O how I enjoy writing poetry,
No real need to count the ways;
It is enough that such expressions
Of my soul and spirit,
Transcends the norm of life,
Each and every day.
