Stress of living,
Strain of believing,
Need of receiving --
The Sun rises out of earth's darkness,
Bringing us the dawning of a new day!

Hurricanes churning,
Tropical Storms swirling,
Wild fires burning --
The Sun rises out of earth's darkness,
Bringing us the dawning of a new day!

A President obsessed,
A Congress self-possessed,
A Nation thoroughly confused --
The Sun rises out of earth's darkness,
Bringing us the dawning of a new day!

Jacob/Esau family feud,
Babylon(Iraq) at it again,
Understanding God's redemptive plan --
The Sun rises out of earth's darkness,
Bringing us the dawning of a new day!

United Nations divided,
Hunger, and sickness all over the world,
Terrorist cells everywhere --
The Sun rises out of earth's darkness,
Bringing us the dawning of a new day!

Unemployment rising,
Wages and benefits lowering,
Joy of living -- more or less --
The Sun rises out of earth's darkness,
Bringing us the dawning of a new day!

Relatives seriously ill,
Friends untimely death,
Retirement funds depleting --
The Sun rises out of earth's darkness,
Bringing us the dawning of a new day!

Entertainment/Pleasure our god,
Education our need,
Losing our children and our youth --
The Sun rises out of earth's darkness,
Bringing us the dawning of a new day!

Writing poetry,
Reading my Bible,
Saying my prayers --
Faith in the Son of God,
Rises out of my darkness,
Giving unto me,
THE DAWNING OF A NEW DAY!
