A Tale of Two Cities
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

By George David Denson
Other Poems by George David Denson

Yesterday, Jerusalem was a Holy City
Built in the shadow of a living God.
Today, she is a fearful city
With blood being spilt on her holy sod.

When we think of Jerusalem,
We contemplate the old and the new.
The old is the city where Jesus walked,
The new is a modern city with quite a view.

Holy Jerusalem, beloved Zion
Is the Love of God's own heart.
Modern day Jerusalem, wounded and bleeding,
Unceasingly prays for a brand new start.

A tale of two cities,
One yesterday, and today,
One built in the shadow of God,
One kidnapped by man's sinful ways.
