The Young Maiden From Bethlehem
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

By George David Denson
Other Poems by George David Denson

A young teen-aged girl,
Sacrificed her life,
On Christianity's most Holy Day.
What an alarming truth,
She speaks to us all,
About how our world
Has lost its way.

This young girl was from Bethlehem,
The place where Jesus was born.
The lovely teen was the same age
As the Mother of Jesus
When she laid Him in a manger,
Wrapped Him in cloth
That was torn.

Mary's Son gave His life,
To save the souls of all.
The young teen gave her life
For a lasting peace,
To come to a land,
Weary of war.

At an age far too young,
Jesus and the young maiden
From Bethlehem,
Both died,
On the Friday
Before Easter Morn!

(Editor's Note: Those who in Israel from Palestine choose to "sacrifice" their lives also "sacrifice" lives of others without their consent. In this country we call that murder. These young people have been brainwashed to believe that they are doing something worthwhile. Unlike Mary the Mother of Christ and Christ himself, their sacrifices are not redemptive, they are unmitigated tragedies.)
