An Iraqi Barefoot Woman
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

An Iraqi Barefoot Woman

An Iraqi woman was walking barefoot,
With a heavy sack of flour upon her head;
She had a smile on her face, a spring in her steps
As if she and her children had been resurrected
From a sealed tomb of the dead.

Have you ever been hungry and thirsty?
Have you ever been in need of clean clothes?
Coalition soldiers capturing Iraqi ciites,
Clothing hundreds of thirsty and hungry souls.

Have you ever been terribly sick --
Without the promise of a healthy cure;
Coalition soldiers moving toward victory,
Bringing healing to hundreds of Iraqi citizens
With freedom's motives ever so pure.

Jesus of Nazareth, walked the Middle East roads,
With dusy sandals of compassionate love;
An Iraqi woman walking barefoot
With a sack of flour on her head --
A most wonderful gift
From Jesus and His Father above.
