Kneeling Beside His Throne

Kneeling Beside His Throne

On a St. Patrick's holiday
in the year of our Lord 2003;
Jesus knelt beside His throne,
And began to weep and pray
for the world, for you and for me!
O my Father, Jesus prayed,
Let this cup of war pass soon
from sea to shining sea;
Son, God counseled, I wished we could,
but remember -- that too many on earth,
have forgotten about you and me.

Father, Jesus asked, Has the time
for my return to earth come true;
Son, God replied, I can not reveal
that to you today --
however, I will someday soon.
Just faithfully pray, my Son,
fervently pray for our beloved world
to experience faith's rebirth;
And for all of the people who love us,
to hold on -- until they see coming
our gift of a new heaven and a new earth.
