From a Soldier's Heart

From a Soldier's Heart

Fighting for love of Country,
Fighting for the freedom of strangers;
Images of blood, sweat and tears,
Freely flowing from a soldier's heart.

Protecting and rescuing friend and foe,
Overcoming stress and home-sickness;
Images of blood, sweat and tears,
Freely flowing from a soldier's heart.

Mourning fallen comrades,
Claiming more land in freedom's name;
Images of blood sweat and tears,
Freely flowing from a soldier's heart.

Flying the American Flag
Treating the defeated enemie's wounds;
Images of blood, sweat and tears,
Freely flowing from a soldier's heart.

Victory over the enemy won,
Resting in a bed of sand for a job well done;
Images of blood, sweat and tears,
Freely flowing from a soldier's heart.
