Winning the Master's Faith Tourname

Winning the Master's Faith Tourname

I won the Masters Golf Tournament for my wife,

to the world, Phil Mickleson tearfully declared;

Unbelievable shots of courage, passion and commitment,

as multiplied millions around the world in HDTV did continually stare.

How many battles of faith have you actually won for me,

My gracious Lord and Master softly, but pointedly asked;

Where is your courage, passion and commitment

as you face your ever growing, life changing faith-challenging tasks.

Memories of a verse of Scripture flood my soul

from yesterday's treasured, but forgotten lore;

The disciple must never seek to be above his Master,

nor should the servant strive to be above his Lord.

Yes, Lord, I will seek to win more faith battles for you,

and repentedly, no longer just for me;

For again the Scripture loudly echoes --- it is enough,

yes, more than enough --

for the disciple like his Master to always faithfully be.

(Matthew 10:24,25)
