Three Faiths In Jerusalem
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

By George David Denson
Other Poems by George David Denson

For three faiths, Jerusalem is the holy city,
we are historically told;
Judaism, Isalmic faith, and Christianity,
testify to their truths ever so bold.
Each one proclaims their faith
each and every day;
Some truths are time-tested fired-steel,
others may be only harden clay.

Visions of a disturbing scene,
in a remote distant past;
Show three men dying on rugged wooden crosses,
each one, breathing their last.
Two of these men were guilty of the crimes
for which with their life they did pay;
One man was declared innocent of all charges,
and many still believe so, even to this day.

Three faiths in Jerusalem,
which one is true?
The one which teaches love, and forgiveness,
as bright as a clear sky is blue!
