A Standing Ovation for God

A Standing Ovation for God

Tonight as the planet of Mars
Takes its historical stance
In its historic revolving place;
We will all be humbled, take off our shoes,
And give God a standing ovation
For His genius and creative grace.

Like Moses in the desert wilderness,
We will see our own burning bush -- a planet
burning ever so close and bright;
And we will give God a standing ovation
For His wonderful universe
and His gracious gift of transforming light.

And the word was made flesh
and we beheld His glory, the glory
of His only begotten Son;
Tonight as Mars becomes flesh,
and we behold its glory, the glory
of creator's/creation loving bond --
We will all rise to our feet,
And Give Our God A Standing Ovation.
