Bethlehem's Cry
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

By George David Denson
Other Poems by George David Denson

O little town of Bethlehem,
How much pain we see in your eyes.
We must openly confess to you,
That we have not heeded your repeated cries.

House of David, Birthplace of Jesus,
Home of others too.
We bow our knees in prayer,
For peace to come to you.

Forgive us our trespasses,
The Son of David taught.
Deliver us from terror and evil,
Is now the hurried agenda sought.

O little town of Bethlehem,
Forgive us our comfortable lives.
While with great anxiety and fear,
In your homes and streets, you constantly cry.
