Christmas Tears

Christmas Tears

There was no room in the Bethlehem inn,
The teacher emphatically said.
Tears began to stream down his cheeks,
The young child all dressed in Santa Claus red.

Why are you crying those little tears
The teacher compassionately asked.
I feel so bad for the little baby Jesus --
For I know how it feels to always be last.

O little child, all dressed in Santa Claus red,
Your teacher will no longer forget or ignore --
We all will be more considerate of you,
So you and baby Jesus will not be last anymore.

Joy to my heart, the young child sang,
As he wiped away his Christmas tears.
I will make room for the baby Jesus in my heart,
And He and I will have a happy new year.

A little child shall lead them,
The Holy Scriptures say.
O my beloved child,
All dressed in Santa Claus red --
Your tears have taught me so much,
As we joyfully prepare for another Christmas Day.
