An Ode To Nancy
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

Other Poems by George David Denson

Happy Anniversary!
To my soul-mate of 32 years.
Together we have experienced much success,
Even though some has come,
Through blood, sweat, and tears.

Your Father passed away,
A few years ago.
Your mother, and my parents,
Are beginning to face,
Their last days ever so slow.
Remember that day at the age of twenty,
When we told them we were getting married,
With unmitigated gall of resolve ever so bold.
(Today we have two great kids,
One soon to graduate from College,
The other gave us a beautiful grandchild.
One still living at home,
The other traveling with the New Speers,
A Southern Gospel Quartet.)
You are God's gift to me,
Hopefully I am God's gift to you.
His grace has been the secure key,
Helping us make the grade,
In this ever-changing marriage school!

Happy Anniversary --
To my true love of 32 years.
For you, this poetic ode,
Has been my expression to you,
Of a much deserved, and maybe too often delayed --
"Three Cheers"!!!
