A Night Parable

A Night Parable

Daylight Savings Time,
Shines more light upon our way.
Yet, as the calendar pages
Turn toward November --
Mother Earth,
Begins To humble the measure of our day.

The sun sets earlier,
Light prepares,
For its winter flight.
Man has less time
To work and play --
A grateful soul looks forward to longer nights.

God changes time's clock,
Without the help of the tools of man.
He shortens --
The length of our day;
In a visible night parable,
That all can plainly see and understand!
