If I Were to Live to Be 100

If I were to live to be 100,
Like Bob Hope and George Burns;
What a bodily task to grow older,
And the myth of growing old,
To daily, courageously spurn.

If I were to live to be 100,
What a gracious gift that would be;
Like Hope and Burns, living life
With a heart filled with love and laughter,
Yes, possessed with an aging body semi-bound,
But a soul, and spirit completely free.

My goal is to live to be 100,
Imagine, a life full of a century of time;
My body weary, tired, and worn,
But my soul with its Creator and Savior,
For time and eternity completely aligned.
