The Recovery of Spring
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

By George David Denson
Other Poems by George David Denson

A few weeks ago, our long awaited Spring,
Was to joyfully "spring" forth.
The daily temperature hit eighty, eighty-five,
And just continued to soar and soar!

Ninety-one, maybe ninety-two degrees, or more
On a hot, humid mid-April Tennessee Day,
Made you believe that nature, like our world,
Had lost its own redemptive way.

Today as I cautiously walked out my front door,
The glory of another Spring, with its cool breezes,
Bright sunshine, and its deep colored greens,
Greeted me with a big loving hug once more.

Spring apologized for having temporarily
Lost its charted seasonal way,
My prayer for you she said,
"Is that all of your life will be
As beautiful, as this Glorious Spring Day!"
