The Lighthouse of Thanksgiving
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

By George David Denson
Other Poems by George David Denson

The Lighthouse of Thanksgiving,
stands on life's everyday shore with its bright light,
shining forth its beams of thanksliving,
As a cloud by day, or a pillar of fire by night.

As Jesus is the light of the world,
so Thanksgiving is the Lighthouse built in His name,
shining powerfully in the midst of growing darkness,
And the darkness cannot overcome its bright burning flame.

The Lighthouse of Thanksgiving is an attitude found within,
founded upon the strong foundation of love's solid rock,
ever guiding us away from the tragic wreckage of sin,
And leading our life like time revolves around a clock.

As we come to the close of our year,
and begin to embark upon the uncertainty of another,
the Lighthouse of Thanksgiving removes our fears,
And shines forth a glowing light, like a friend,
that sticketh closer than a brother.
