Thank You, Mr. President

Thank You, Mr. President

Former President Jimmy Carter has been chosen,
To receive The Nobel Prize for Peace.
For he has given much of his time and energy,
In making life better for those we call "the least"

As I wash your feet, so should you wash each others,
Jesus of Nazareth said to His twelve fishers of men.
Our Lord left us all an example to follow,
President Carter accepted that challenge as a loving command.

Being given The Nobel Prize for Peace,
Is a wonderful tribute to a man who lifts up the poor.
Thank You, Mr. President --
Someday you will receive,
Heaven's most personal guided tour.

Editor's note: There has been considerable commentary that he has really been much more effective as expresident than as president. Perhaps it is because he began doing what his heart really was leading?
