The Waving Flag
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

By George David Denson
Other Poems by George David Denson

I pledge allegiance to the American Flag,
That waves o'er The Land of The Free.
Whether it continues to proudly wave
or lowly sags,
Will depend upon Patriots like you and me.

My country dear to me, of thee I sing,
As this Grand Old Flag waves majestically
from sea to sea.
Like eagles soar against the wind,
let the Freedom Bells ring;
And with even greater passion, let us all
sing The Anthem of The Free!

Admdst the fear of terror attacks,
Ring loud and clear the Bells of Liberty;
With hand over heart, salute the
Star-Spangled Flag,
Yet, though tattered and torn, ever waves
o'er the Land of The Free!
